The magnificent St. Lawrence’s Church in Macau is an esteemed place of worship which always draws the interest of the observer. The initial shrine at this site was constructed in the 16th century by the Jesuits, which makes the church amongst the most ancient in Macau. You will also see numerous interesting statues and exquisite windows of stained glass, whilst lovely chandeliers dangle from the ceiling. The principal high altar features a handsome representation of St. Lawrence, clad in splendid attire. Above the saint you will see an angel holding a crown, adding to the splendour of the scene. The combination of these elements creates a spectacular effect, and you must take the time to fully appreciate the splendid features of the interior. A visit to this splendid place of worship will undoubtedly inspire the imagination of the observer.
