Early Life
Tan Hiok Nee had a rough childhood and he got addicted to gambling but he later moved away from his hometown and slowly built a name for himself by working honestly. He is said to have reached Pahang and worked in the mines of Pahang to pay for his travel expenses, and upon clearing up his debts, he moved to Singapore and continued his journey to success from there.
