Dodos are known among bird enthusiasts, but the majority don’t know what this bird species is. Dodo was a bird species that existed only until the 19th century.
The physical appearance
Dodos were too massive to be birds! They were around 20kg in weight and around 1 meter in height. They had short wings preventing them from flying high.
Their place on earth
They were only found (as per the records) in Mauritius. Mauritius was not inhabited for a very long time and soon after the inhabitation, this bird species had begun to disappear.
The reason for their extinction
Well, there are several perceptions about this. Some say the extinction soon happened when Mauritius got inhabited, while some say they faced a natural extinction as they were too easy to be preyed on by other animals (as they couldn’t fly).
