Yuexiu District in China has 4 historic temples. Out of these 4, one of the most popular is the Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. It’s a place where you can discover many cultural relics as well.
The history
Did you know that this temple is more than 1400 years old? However, what you see today is not the original structure as it has been rebuilt several times in between. Even its name has been subjected to several changes over the years.
Tianwang Hall
What’s so amazing about this Hall is the Laughing Buddha Statue. This statue welcomes all visitors with a pleasant smile, and that’s indeed a heart soothing welcome.
Six Banyan Pagoda
Like the name suggests the pagoda takes the shape of six banyan trees. They say there are Buddhist Relics inside this structure that are even older than the temple itself.
Other special features in the premises
You may also head to the Daxiong Baodian Hall which is the main hall of the temple. To witness all these, you just have to take the metro or the bus from your apartment hotel in Guangzhou, be it the popular Ascott IFC Guangzhou or any other.
