Designed by award-winning architect Jean Nouvel, this newly designed national museum is a true masterpiece that showcases the rich culture and heritage of the region and beyond.
Visitors to the museum:
Drawn in by the cerebral manner in which it depicts the ancient history of Qatar, upwards of 450,00 visitors enjoy the stunning displays of lights, sounds and visuals that create a union between history and storytelling. Visitors can also enjoy an alternative to Doha City hotels by taking advantage of accommodations like the nearby Somerset West Bay Doha for their stays.
The infrastructure:
At roughly 420,00 square feet, this museum occupies a large swathe of space in an almost 1.5 million square foot site in the south of Doha.
The design and concept:
Inspired by the Bedouin history of Qatar and the existence of the desert rose crystal, Jean Nouvel brought to life this structure to ring a reminiscent chord in the heart of any Qatari that visits.
The layout of the museum:
This stunning structure consists of a large 220 seat auditorium, laboratories, cafés as well as the usual gift shop that goes perfectly with the stunning galleries depicting the natural history of the desert and the vast history of the region.
