Why is it Significant?
This temple is a world-renowned site of gathering and worship for those who practice Buddhism. The tooth relic is the left Canine tooth of Gautama buddha. It was deemed to be a world heritage by UNESCO in 1988 and is therefore considered to be of great cultural significance and value.
