The Shiba Park is located between the Minato municipal offices and Tokyo Tower. Many of the footpaths in the park offer excellent views of Tokyo Tower, so the park is a popular spot for dates and appears in many television and film sequences. The Central Labor Relations Commission is also located here. Established in 1873, this is one of the first five parks in Japan and offers perfect views of Tokyo Tower. The park is built around Zojoji Temple (the one featured in ‘Wolverine’) and holds an ancient tomb built in the fifth century. Around 200 cherry blossom trees grow around the tomb and near the pond, and at night when Tokyo Tower is lit up, the scenery takes on a magical feel. The Ascott Roppongi Residences is a hotel, which is located very close by to the Shiba Park, and is one of the best Monthly Rental Apartments in Tokyo. This park has a rustic scenery which is blessed with bountiful water and green. It used to be a private golf course of ICU University. The golf course was bought in 1974 and construction of park was performed based on “The forest of Musashino project”, of which opening was in 1980. This park is located astride 3 cities, Chofu city, Koganei city and Mitaka city and is divided into 3 area by Nogawa River and the municipal roadway. The north side of Nogawa River adjoins Kokubunji cliff edge. The area between Nogawa River and the road is an undulating grass. And there are spacious grass, tennis courts, athletics fields and a gate-ball field on the south area. It is a great idea to try a barbecue party under green shades in summer.
