The Symphony of Lights in Hong Kong is a nightly, 8:00 p.m., light and sound performance that lasts roughly ten minutes. You can watch the lights from just about anywhere along the waterfront because the entire city serves as the stage, but the finest views are from the Tsim Sha Tsui side with the Hong Kong Island skyline in view. Here are some facts before you plan your itinerary.
The lights
About forty buildings on both sides of the harbour participate in the light show, with the majority of well-known structures including the Bank of China Building, HSBC Building, Jardine House, the IFC towers, the Peninsula, and the Intercontinental expected to take part. The structures themselves are illuminated by sporadic rays that emerge from the structures.
The music
The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra provides the musical performance, and only the following locations can receive broadcasts: between the Avenue of Stars and the Hong Kong Cultural Centre, on the Kowloon side of the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, on the promenade of Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai, next to the Convention Center, on the Hong Kong Island side. Of course, you will be able to hear it if you are on one of the Symphony of Lights Harbour Cruises.
Tsim Sha Sui Promenade
The Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, which faces the Hong Kong Island side, where most of the action takes place, is one of the greatest places to observe. Even though the show has been enlarged to include both sides of the harbour, the Hong Kong Island side still boasts the majority of the city’s infamous structures, and the vistas are simply breathtaking with Victoria Peak in the distance. It’s only 14 mins away from hotels such as Dorsett Mongkok Hong Kong. You can easily make a Hong Kong quarantine hotel booking and reserve your stay.
Cocktail Cruise
The sights of the magnificent Victoria Harbour and the majestic Hong Kong skyline at night are just indescribable; you simply have to experience them for yourself. With unbroken views of Hong Kong Island, Victoria Peak, and the Kowloon skyline provided by this cruise, you can watch as the city’s spectacular light show, the Symphony of Lights, plays out all around you.
