Also known as ‘Little New Zealand’, the Ambewala Farms in Nuwara Eliya is one of the most famous attractions. Visit this amazing place and get away from the chaos of city life.
Ambewala Farm in Nuwara Eliya is about 17km away from the city. The entire farm spans across around 150 acres. It’d be best if you could travel to this farm by car.
Here, you won’t see cows caged in cowsheds. Cows are free to roam around, grazing on the green pastures.
It’s not just about producing milk. But also many other products including yoghurt, cheese, and cream. If visitors need to buy them, the farm has also arranged an outlet which offers special discounts.
A bit from the history
According to sources such as Truly Sri Lanka, Ambewala Farm has been established in the 1960s. The New Zealand government has offered kind assistance for this establishment.
With green lands, clear skies, and wind turbines here and there, the Ambewala Farm offers great vistas. The place is open from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm every day, but it’d be always better if you could call them and check out before you go.
