While Hua Hin is known for its idyllic coastal escapes, this picturesque part of Thailand is also where one can enjoy some cultural sightseeing at places such as Marukhathaiyawan Palace. Before heading to such attractions make sure you find suitable accommodation at one of the many Hua Hin hotels. Those in search of a luxurious sanctuary on the coast can consider beach hotels Hua Hin Thailand has to offer such as Anantara Hua Hin Thailand Resort which also has its own spa.
Located on by the beach, Marukhathaiyawan Palace was once the summer residence of King Rama VI. Designed by an Italian architect, this striking landmark features golden teak which was used in its construction. There are three structures at this site, each connected to each other by corridors. The Front Court is what is known as the Sevakamataya Group of Buildings and was used by the King to make his official entrance. The Bisansagara section was used as the personal residence of the King and contains the Royal Suit and the Dining Pavilion. Also of note is the Samudabiman section which housed H.M. Queen Indrasakdisaci’s residence.
