The Maldives is one of the few destinations that have fully reopened for tourists and here’s what you need to know if planning a holiday to this tropical paradise.
Quarantine-free Entry
Tourists enjoy quarantine-free entry and get a free on-arrival visa valid for 30 days. That said, arriving travellers must produce a negative result of a COVID-19 PCR test taken within 96 hours before departing to the Maldives; you must also submit a health declaration form online within 24 hours before travel using the IMUGA portal (https://imuga.immigration.gov.mv/ethd/create?lang=en).
Island Resort Stays
For those planning a holiday in the Maldives, resort options on private islands offer extremely safe stays with minimal contact from outside. Such properties including Kurumba Maldives have adopted stringent hygiene and health protocols that have been implemented from the time of your transfer to the resort till your departure.
Resort Measures
Enhanced sanitation and cleaning procedures with specific chemicals are utilised ensuring guestrooms are comprehensively disinfected, while they are kept vacant for at least 24 hours before a new occupant arrives. Social distancing measures are also in place in public areas, dining venues and certain facilities which are thoroughly disinfected regularly.
Activities & Adventures
Apart from local island visits which may not be available due to pandemic restrictions, you can still enjoy the many other things to do in Maldives. Go on snorkelling and diving excursions, head off on jet-ski safaris, try other water sports, embark on sunset and dolphin watching cruises, share an intimate picnic on a sandbank and more!
