The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a must visit
Before the Opera House came along this was Australia’s most iconic landmark. Called the ‘coat hanger’ by locals due to its bow-like shape the bridge constructed in 1932 is still the world’s largest arch bridge built of steel. Supported by two huge twin piers at each end this is a single curve style construction that rises to a height of 134 metres. Eight lanes of road traffic and two for railway lines make up impressive Harbour Bridge which can be viewed by guests from Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments in Darling Harbour.
The rocks will always be famous for its history
Sitting on a Peninsula jutting out to Sydney Harbour, the Rocks which was once home to the Gadigal Aboriginal Tribes is a cherished historical area. It’s named for the rocky outcrops located around beautiful Sydney Cove, another must visit site as this is where the first convicts pitched their tents on arrival. There are in fact over 100 heritage buildings located along this precinct and the oldest and most fascinating is Cadman’s Cottage which was built in 1816. Some of the best hotel apartments Sydney CBD has to offer are located within easy access to The Rocks; from where you can easily explore Rocks Discovery Museum, cobblestone roads resplendent with souvenir shops, restaurants and lively market stalls.
