The lovely Maldives is ranked amongst the world’s foremost holiday destinations for its white sandy beaches and exciting watersports. It is home to wide variety of birds and animals too!

Overview
Since Maldives is made up of many beautiful islands, it has numerous species of fish and other marine creatures. You will find tropical fishes like Moorish idols, angelfish, butterfly fish and blue-stripe snapper. Wildlife is a key attraction among many tourists who spend their holiday in Maldives. The reptile life is limited while there is a decent number of small animals including scorpions and spiders.
Fish
Beneath the crystal-clear waters, you will come across fish of all sizes and colours. Out of them, your favourites would be Parrotfish and Clownfish! You’ll also spot how graceful Rays glide through the waters. They will come close to you for a cheeky selfie and be aware that you treat these sensitive creatures with respect.
Turtles
Five out of seven sea turtle species in the world are found in Maldives. Have you ever wanted to observe the egg-laying ritual of giant turtles? Spend some time in a Maldivian beach to witness the wondrous sight of amazing turtles. If you are staying at one of the Maldives 5 star resorts located close to the beach, such as Amaya Kuda Rah, you will not miss the amazing sight of turtles.
Birds
Although Maldives is not a popular birdwatching destination, it has some of the interesting species of birds. Saunders’s Tern, Black-naped Tern, and Ospreys can be found even while you are cruising in search of dolphins and mantas.
