The Woolworth Building of the United States is a magnificent creation of Cass Gilbert. This colossal structure built in the year 1913 is one of the oldest high rise buildings of America. This tower was built in a land acquired by F.W Woolworth on the 11th of March in 1910 from an Estate known as Trenor Luther Park for a price of two million dollars. It has been over a century that this building has been put up and houses 567 stories and is within the fifty tallest building in the US and 20 tallest in New York City. The Woolworth building has been a monumental landmark since 1966 and a New York City marker since 1983. Architect Cass Gilbert used neo-gothic style of architecture when constructing the tower and at that time Frank Woolworth commissioned on this to build the worlds highest or rather tallest building.
The Woolworth building was under the ownership of Woolworth Company for about 865 year until when the Venator Group which was formerly known as Woolworth group sold it over to Witkoff Group for an amount of 155 million dollars. After the attack in 2001 the building faced a huge loss and was out of function for a long time and now is a famous tourist attraction housing a few universities and other small offices.
