Abu Dhabi, UAE, is currently one of the cities that provide exclusive vacation experiences to all those who travel. Earlier this was famous for its deserts that spread throughout the county and the crude oil reservoirs which bought in a massive amount of currency to the country has now diversified in to being a hotspot tourist destination. One of the pioneers who steered Abu Dhabi towards its success and glamour is Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan who passed away in the year 2004. As a tribute to this great character, a magnificent museum is coming up in the centre of the cultural district in Saadiyat Island.
Among many designs that were proposed for this unique building, the design done by international architects Foster + Partners was chosen. The proposed building reflects the flight and the feathers of a falcon where there are steel feathers rising up to the Saadiyat Island skyline. The building is designed in a way that it would be surrounded by water and lush greenery so that the visitor would feel relaxed and soothed as soon as they enter the premises. When looked from afar people would see a giant bird resting at the centre of the city. In the night the feathers would be decorated with lights which would give a magical feeling to the viewer.
The museum is dedicated to Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan for his vision for the transformation of the region which directed towards forming UAE. This will include every inspirational element that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan had to drive his country towards success. The museum is planned to open for public viewing in 2016.
