The park lies within four small islands Pulau Payar, Pulau Kaca, Palau Lemba and Pulau Segantang. The park is quite famous for its beautiful coral reefs and abundant algae which attracts larger species of fish.

An alternative location to go snorkeling is to visit the beautiful Thai Island of Koh Lipe which happens to only about a mere 30 minutes away from Langkawi.
