A place where literature and learning come together, the State Library of South Australia is not only a rich storehouse of information, but also an attraction in its own right, well worth a visit.

Location
The library is located in Adelaide, the capital of South Australia; it can be found in the North Terrace Cultural Precinct and is a 10 minute walk from Oaks Horizons. There is a tram stop right outside the library, while bus stops on North Terrace are within easy reach as well.
The Buildings & Tours
The library is made up of three buildings; the Victorian style Mortlock Wing, the 19th century Institute Building and the more modern Catherine Helen Spence Wing. Easy to access for those finding accommodation in Adelaide CBD, the library has free tours, while it offers a smartphone app too.
The Collection
The state’s largest public research library, it features a massive collection broken into different sections. The South Australiana collection features materials on South Australia, while the Family History collection primarily focuses on South Australian resources. Also of note are the comprehensive reference collections and the special collections that include international materials.
