The best time to visit Niseko will depend on what your interests are while travelling. Is it to avoid crowds or enjoy good weather? Here are a few of the best times to visit if you do plan on holidaying in Niseko on your next vacation.
Niseko ski season
This depends on the different ski areas in Niseko. From late November to May, visit Hirafu and Annupuri. If you are visiting in December or April, head over to Hanazono and Niseko Village. The night ski season is from mid-December to mid-March.
Pre-Christmas
Niseko is known for its early season snow. So, if you want to visit when the crowd is less, be here for the early season in early December.
Skiing from Christmas to New Year
If you want to be here at this time of year you will have to book your Niseko accommodation at least 6 months in advance. Hotels like Chatrium Niseko Japan tend to be fully booked by June.
Visit in February
If you really want to avoid the crowds, visit Niseko in late February. This is when the crowds from the Chinese New Year season begin to disperse.
