Bounded by Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar, Thailand is one of the hottest destinations in Asia. Chaloklum is an important fishing village located on the island and it has its own port. Unlike the rest of the island, Chaloklum does not receive much tourist traffic which makes it the ideal spot for those who want to avoid large crowds. One major activity to try out when in Chaloklum is scuba diving. There are plenty of excellent dive spots just waiting to be explored. One can find many scuba diving operations on the island and most places cater to novice divers as well as veterans. Tourists visiting Chaloklum should also try to visit the Chinese temple located near the village. The temple is a prime example of Chinese architecture and contains stunning sculptures of the Buddha.
Although much of the island is undeveloped, one can still find plenty of Koh Phangan hotels to fit any budget.
