Overview
Constructed in the middle of the Beira Lake, The elegant Temple is certainly a spectacle to watch. The temple was constructed in 1970 as a replacement to the original temple which had sunk into the lake.
The Architecture
Designed by the father of Tropical modernism; Jeoffrey Bawa himself, the temple is spread across three raised platforms on the lake and the it has been designed to resemble the jungle temples of Anuradhapura.
