About
Being the 5th largest island in Thailand, Koh Phangan covers a total area of 167sqkm. Over 70% of its area features tropical forests and lowlands. Climate
Koh Phangan has two main seasons. From December to March the climate is rather hot whereas from May to September occasional rain is experienced. A brief history
The history of Koh Phangan dates back to 500 BC. About 600 years ago a group of monks has settled in this island and many old stupas from the same period prove evidence for the presence of monks during that period. Later, many Chinese people started migrating from the Hainan island.
