Dubai, a glistening gem of the Middle East outlined by magnificent coastlines and exclusive hotels is the ideal holiday destination. But for a truly distinctive experience visitors can now enjoy a boat ride here on a Thai style longtail boat! Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort offers its in-house guests and visitors a unique ride on a longtail boat, that was shipped from Thailand exclusively for this Palm Jumeriah hotel. The colourful long tail boat known as ‘Ruea Hang Yao’ adds a real taste of Asia. The ruea hang yao is a wooden, banana shaped boat native to South Asia, commonly used in Thailand for the past hundred years. The boats are known to be powerful and agile enough to sail through the rough waters of the sea but are more ideal for short trips and shallow calm waters.
As the waters of the Arabian Sea are calmer around Dubai, sailing through the blue tranquil waters of the Gulf aboard the longtail boat ensures a smooth journey between the islands and the rest of the main city. Being Dubai’s first Thai longtail boat, the journey creates a story of cultural adventure from the Land of Smiles concocting a perfect mix of urban setting in a modern cosmopolitan city in the United Arab Emirates. Accommodating up to 10 people per trip, the boat travels between Palm Jumeriah and Dubai Marina several times per day. The boat ride is a picturesque sailing trip offering its guests a spectacular look at Dubai’s man-made islands and some key iconic areas of Dubai. It give its passengers a wonderful story of their experience aboard the longtail boat to take back home!
