If you’re planning to visit Macau, you must visit at least one of its amazing museums. Here’s a list to help you plan your itinerary.
Macau Museum
Just 11 minutes away from Hotel Okura Macau and other similar Macau five star hotels, this museum is truly one of a kind. You’re unlikely to find a better introduction to the history and culture of Macau than the Macau Museum. The museum has three floors, each of them covering the city’s diverse history. There is a floor that is dedicated entirely to popular art and traditions of the island, which feature the Chinese shadow puppets and detailed fans.
Macau Museum of Art
This is the region’s largest display of local art. Boasting both historical and contemporary works from Macau and Southern China, you’re sure to leave this museum feeling inspired.
Maritime Museum
This museum is at the spot where the first Portuguese explorers arrived in 1553, paying tribute to the sea’s crucial role in the city’s history. The three floors of the museum deal with ethnography, history, and technology of the sea.
