Built to honour Lord Murugan, son of Lord Shiva, this temple is an iconic site that is located in a great place that makes for an exciting visit.
About the temple
Located inside the famous Batu Caves, this Murugan Kovil is a mind-blowing Hindu religious site that thousands of people visit every day. The caves are said to be more than 400 million years old and the inner walls of the cave are about 100 metres tall!
Batu Caves is a popular tourist destination in Malaysia, and if you are staying at one of the 5-star hotels in Kuala Lumpur the likes of Berjaya Times Square Hotel, this excursion wouldn’t take you too long. Keeping aside one full day to visit the caves and the temple would be good since there is so much to see.
What to expect
During your trip and exploration of the caves, you will see a lot of wild monkeys, pigeons, and many more tourists who have come to explore the place just like you. It is quite a long climb up to the caves, and during the summer, it can be a slow deal.
Once you reach the top
Once you surpass all the hurdles and get to the top, you will reach the shrines and the main part of the temple. This place has a very luminous yet dark vibe to it.
