Namibia is a young country, but the path to independence has been quite full of struggles. Visit the National Museum of Namibia during your tour and discover things that you never knew about the country’s history.
The location
The museum is located in the city of Windhoek- the capital of Namibia. As there are several hotels in Windhoek including the world-class accommodation options the likes of Avani Windhoek Hotel & Casino, the museum is located within very close vicinity if you choose one of them for your holiday stay.
The Owela Museum
This is one of the two main display centres that the museum features. This part is all about elements of the Namibian natural history and some ethnographic displays of culture and tradition.
The Alte Feste Museum
This is the other main display centre at the National Museum, and this contains displays on the country’s colonial and more recent history. Since there is no admission fee applicable to enter to any of these centres, you don’t have to worry about it at all.
Outside the Museum
Outside the museum, there is an incongruous collection of railway engines and coaches to showcase the technology aspect of old Namibia, about which they are still proud of.
