Opened in 2013, the Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve is an excellent alternative to Vallee de Mai. The diversity of flora and fauna is why the park has reserved special status.
Getting there
You can get there by bus, or you can rent a car – both options are available in equal measure. The park is located off the northern side of the island in close proximity to Seychelles resorts – the likes of Berjaya Praslin Resort. If you are lodged at one of the resorts, you can get the hotel staff to arrange the excursion for you.
The Park
When compared to its competitor Vallee De Mai, the Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve is way larger in size. The park is a sanctuary that nurtures many endemic plants and animals. For a small entry fee, you can enter into a lost world, and the tour is going to last for at least two hours.
Stunning Views
A visit to the park entails panoramic views of the surroundings. The sunsets you get to see are an absolute winner of hearts.
Coco de Mer Palm Trees
The Fond Ferdinand Nature Reserve is home to the famous coco de Mer palm trees which undoubtedly is the main highlight.
