One major attraction that is actually located on the outskirts of the site is its water gardens. The water gardens are a symmetrical structure that is beautifully built on the East-West axis of the rock. They are connected through an outer moat that is situated on the West and a large exotic lake found on the south. Underground, all these pools are interlinked by a conduit network that is fed by the lake and which joins the moat; the entire system stands as evidence to a masterpiece at work.
There are 3 main gardens found here. The first one is actually a plot surrounded by water built in accordance with the Char Bagh; the ancient garden style. The 2ndone is made up of 2 deep pools both of which are placed on either side of the path. 2 shallow streams lead up to each pool giving it a very peaceful appearance. This garden is adorned by fountains and 2 large water gardens all found in close proximity. Finally there is the 3rd water garden. Located on a higher level, this garden boasts a massive octagonal pool that was built with a raised podium on its far northeast corner.
