A bit of history
Built from the mid-12th to the early 13th century, this temple that still remains intact is most beautiful in the glory of the morning. It is situated towards the southwest of eastern Mebon and to the east of Angkor Thom. Back in the time, it was constructed using the Bayon art style.
Left untouched
The location of the temple is thought to be the capital of the Kingdom of Trees a long time ago. The best part of this ancient, yet magnificent temple is that it is left untouched by archaeologists except for clearing a footpath for visitors and strengthening the structure.
Inscribed information
This is perhaps the only Khmer temple that contains a decipherable inscription of the temple and its occupants from the early ages. When translated it says that more than 80,000 people were required for the proceedings of the temple with 2700 officials and 615 dancers.
