Cairns is the pinnacle of Australian wonder for those that love to explore. Situated in northern Queensland, there is just so much you can do here it’s difficult to narrow it down.
1. Cairns Wildlife Dome
An enclosure with an impressive 20m tall glass dome, the Cairns Wildlife Dome has located a quick drive from Oaks Cairns Hotel. It is unlike any other zoo you have been to.
2. Hang Out by the Lagoon
The lagoon is a great place to go if you want to spend a day away from the Brisbane hotels and city scene. But keep in mind that you can’t swim because of the jellyfish.
3. White Water Rafting
The Cairns area is home to not one, but three great rivers. Where else would you go if you love white water rafting?
4. Participate in an Aboriginal Culture Walk
While in Cairns and Brisbane it is always good to give back in some way and you can do just that by learning more about Aborigine culture. The Aboriginal Culture Walk is a great example of good eco-tourism.
5. Try Cable Skiing
Cable-driven water skiing is something that is loved by the locals. If you try it out you will see why. There is a man-made lake where you can try out a couple of tricks to really get that adrenaline pumping.
