Getting there
Getting to this destination is no hard task. If you are starting your journey from Colombo, rise early and head over to the bus stand. Take a bus that’s going to Matara and buy your ticket for Polhena Beach and you are in for a thrilling ride.
Best time to visit
The ideal time to visit would be in the morning time as the turtles are more active during this time. Your best option would be to stay at one of the hotels in Mirissa Sri Lanka the likes of Sri Sharavi Beach Villas & Spa which is no more than 10 minutes away from the location.
Observe the turtles
It is important to keep in mind that you respect the turtles while watching them in their habitat. Give them their own space and do not try to feed or touch them.
Snorkel
The waters are clear enough for a snorkel so go right on ahead. If you don’t have gear with you, renting it out is always an option.
