Sri Lanka is simply much more than its legacy, its culture, and traditions. There are many other interesting facts about this paradise island and here are just a few of them.
It has many nicknames
Sri Lanka has many other names to it, that can sometimes seem too much for one single country! They call it the pearl of the Indian ocean and they call it the teardrop of India too. Ceylon, Serendib has been used in the past- also as other names.
It has a variety of animals
The country is small but mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians can all be seen in thousands. If you are interested to see elephants, you have Yala and, if it’s whales you have in mind, you have Mirissa. It is always suggested to select a hotel close by your activities in Sri Lanka and if it’s whale watching in Mirissa, go for one of the Mirissa hotels. This will add convenience to your journeys.
Beaches are common in it
Being an island, Sri Lanka is surrounded by beaches. But, the waters, the atmospheres are all different from each other. If you are a beach lover, just do not miss the Mirissa beach located down south! You don’t need to worry about accommodation in this area because there are plenty of good places to stay like Sri Sharavi Beach Villas & Spa.
It has a little England!
