National Art Museum of China
Located on Wusi Main Street in Beijing, the National Art Museum is one of China’s biggest art museums. It houses a collection of contemporary and ancient Chinese art, as well as some Western ones. As you explore the museum’s three different levels, keep your eyes peeled for imperial Chinese artwork, traditional Chinese paintings, sculptures and lacquered creations. The exhibits on display make use of several mediums ranging from oil paints and watercolours to porcelain.

798 Art Zone
Another good place to experience Beijing’s art scene is the 798 Art Zone. It’s located on Jiuxianqiao Road in the Chaoyang District, which is known for being an up-and-coming art district. If you’re staying at a service apartment in Beijing such as the Ascott Riverside Garden Beijing, it’ll take about 20 minutes for you to reach the 798 Art Zone. It features several galleries, studio, bars and restaurants. International fashion and art exhibitions are regularly held there.

Check out this art fair which takes place in Beijing every year. Categories of artwork showcased at Art Beijing include those such as public art, design art, classic art and contemporary art.
Poly Art Museum
If you’re fascinated by the animals of the Chinese Zodiac, visit the tiny Poly Art Museum in the Dongcheng District. It features a wonderful collection of bronze statues, some of them ancient!
