Aquaria KLCC is the largest aquarium in the world and it features over five thousand freshwater and marine creatures. This giant watery venue is located on the concourse level of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The convention center, an attraction in itself, is only a few minutes from the Berjaya Times Square Hotel, a property of the prestigious Berjaya Hotels and Resorts group.
More than just a sightseeing attraction, Aquaria KLCC, is well worth the time spent exploring. The stars of the aquarium include everything from tiger sharks, sea snakes, blue rays and sea horses to arapaima, groupers, gar fish and more. The layout of the venue takes visitors through several different displays, replications of the highlands and flooded jungles of Malaysia, the Amazon, coral reefs and the wide open ocean. The attraction opens every day from 11am to 8pm but plan to visit on a Monday, Wednesday or Saturday if you want to catch fish feeding time.
Visit the first level to watch piranhas attack their meal with speed and agility, while electric eels, elephant nose fish and electric catfish put on an electrifying show! The DNA touch pool allows visitors a chance to hold live corals and star fish in their hands. Next, you can glide through a ninety meter tunnel on a moving travelator which is inside a giant tank containing sand tiger sharks, huge stingrays and many more sea creatures. The Stream is a freshwater display that shows guests a giant water rat and an Asian small-clawed otter among other animals. The reptiles, amphibians and insects inhabit the Jewels of the Jungle section. Make your way to level two to Amazon Flooded Forest, explore The Coast and then the Oceanarium. The Weird and Wonderful Section and the Coral Discovery Section are also located on the second floor.
