Ba Bể National Park is a natural reserve located in the Vietnam’s scenic southern region. Surrounded by sweeping limestone cliffs and dotted with majestic evergreen forests, it is the ideal place to explore Vietnam’s pristine natural beauty. Located about 240 kilometres away from the capital city of Hanoi, the park is home to the largest freshwater lake, Ba Bể Lake, which extends about 8 kilometres from north to south. Ba Bể National Park boasts a few gorgeous scenic spots in which visitors can soak in the natural allure of the land. The quirky “Fairy Pond” is a crystal clear pool of water that seeps through the towering limestone rock surrounding it. The Nang River flows through the impressive Puong Cave, stretching 50 metres high and 300 metres wide. It is also home to about 18 species of bats numbering ten to fifteen thousand. The ephemeral Dau Dang Waterfall is formed by a sequence of one kilometre rapids from the Nang River. The southern lake is home to Widow Island, a lone cone islet rising over the top of the river. According to legend, the island once housed an old woman who escaped a flood through the work of the gods. Nature enthusiasts will surely appreciate experiencing the unspoiled beauty of Ba Bể National Park.
