Towering above Hai River on Yongle Bridge is a giant Ferris Wheel called Tianjin Eye, which is located approximately 1.5 kilometres away from Pan Pacific Tianjin. It is also known as the “eye” of Tianjin and rotates day and night.
Construction
This amazing attraction in Tianjin was commissioned to be built during 2007 and the completion of its body was seen in 2008. However, it was not until April 2009 that it was opened to the general public.
A Ride on Tianjin Eye
With 48 passenger capsules complete with air-conditioning, Tianjin Eye can take around 384 passage during each of its rotations. A ride on this Ferris wheel takes around approximately half an hour to complete. Once you reach the highest point of Tianjin Eye, a radius of 40 kilometres can be seen to your naked eye, depending on the day’s weather conditions.
Best Spot to View it from Afar
If you need to capture that coveted photograph of Tianjin, with Tianjin Eye in the background, head over to Jingang Bridge, which can be found 800 metres south of Tianjin Eye.
