An iconic sight, the Tianjin Eye is one of the key attractions in the major Chinese port city of Tianjin. It’s a great sight to take in be it from outside or on a ride in one of its capsules!
Also called the “Tientsin Eye”, this Ferris wheel is built on Yongle Bridge that stands over the Hai River. Within a 10-minute drive from Pan Pacific Tianjin, this attraction can be accessed by public bus (via the Yongle Bridge, Yuanwei Road or Shijitianle stations) and is generally open from 09:30am to 09:30pm.
The Tianjin Eye spans a height of 120 metres and has a diameter of 110 metres. It has 48 capsules that can accommodate eight passengers each. A rotation takes between 20 to 40 minutes; time varies due to weather and number of passengers. Now that you have the facts, here’s why you should plan a visit from your Tianjin hotel!
The views it provides are truly breathtaking especially from the highest point which can be compared to one you would get from a 35-storey structure. The vistas stretch on for about 40 km (on a clear day), while day and night rides offer two different and fascinating perspectives of the city.
An Instagramable Sight
Equally as spectacular is the sight of this Ferris wheel from afar. One of the best vantage points is from Jingang Bridge around 1.4 km away. Be it the sleek look during the day or illuminated at night above the Hai River, it is a captivating sight indeed!
