Negombo is a seaside destination that’s quite famous among tourists who love exploring the western coast of Sri Lanka. As this destination is closer to Colombo, traveling to and from Negombo, is not a big deal at all.
It has two main attractions
The old Dutch Fort and the Dutch Canal are the most popular attractions you find in the town of Negombo. The Dutch Fort is currently a part of the local prison and a number of people still live here.
The beach
Negombo beach is to be visited either in the morning or in the evening when the sun is about to set. You may also relax on the beach and watch fishing boats set off from the beach to catch fish that’ll be soon sold at the fish market nearby.
