The UAE has been working hard to promote its womenfolk in terms of opportunity and achievements. The government is made up of two-thirds women and one-third of the cabinet are female as well. The Prime Minister of the UAE, Sheik Mohammed is quoted to have said, “We are not enabling women, we are enabling a whole society with women.”
The Women’s Museum
The Dubai Women’s Museum is an archival and documentation centre that focuses on exploring the lives of the kingdom’s women as both professional and personal, in the past and in the present. There are displays of artwork and photography by Emirati women as well as the jewellery and kind of dress and how it has changed over the years.

Founder of the Women’s Museum
The Women’s Museum was founded by an Emirati woman celebrating Emirati women. Doctor Rania Obaid Ghubash grew up near Dubai Creek and was taught by her mother the value of culture, history and what it means to be a woman in the Emirates. That affection permeates into all areas of the museum and is not just an education, but a loving tribute.
