While Vietnam may not be the place you would imagine having a desert adventure, the White Sand Dunes of Mui Ne would beg to differ!
Getting to the Dunes
The famed White Sand Dunes can be found around 26 km from Mui Ne Beach and about a 45-minute drive from properties the likes of Anantara Mui Ne Resort. One of Southeast Asia’s only desert areas, this site is not easy to reach by public transport especially at sunrise; a convenient alternative would be to hire a car or scooter or book an excursion at your resort.
Best Time to Visit
As with any desert visit, avoid the noonday sun as the heat can be scorching. For those planning an excursion from their resort, Mui Ne tours to the White Sand Dunes at sunrise are ideal since it’s relatively cooler and the light perfect for photography. Nevertheless, bring a hat, water and sunscreen too!
What to Expect
Pristine stretches of white sand await at this popular Mui Ne attraction that has imposing dunes and lakes that add to the site’s allure. Nature lovers can lose themselves in the serenity and beauty, while photographers have plenty to capture especially during the early morning hours.
Fun Activities
Of course, there are some thrilling activities on offer here too; experience an exciting quad bike ride on the dunes or take a hot air balloon ride and gain a unique perspective of the desert. You can also head to the nearby lake called Bau Trang and engage in some birdwatching as well.
