Looking for a unique travel experience in Vietnam? Believe it or not, in Mui Ne you will find two desert-like areas providing lots to photograph and some thrilling escapades too!
Planning Your Visit
A laid-back fishing village, Mui Ne can be found along the country’s south coast. Visiting both the Red and White sand dunes are amongst the most popular things to do in Mui Ne and local resorts will most often provide or organise excursions. To avoid the heat do look to visit early morning or in the evening.
Red Sand Dunes
Easy to reach from the main road that runs out of town, the Red Sand Dunes make for truly striking pictures due to their reddish colour. Only around a 20-minute drive from Anantara Mui Ne Resort, this site is especially worth visiting during sunset against the backdrop of rolling dunes.
White Sand Dunes
Larger than its red counterpart, the White Sand Dunes is a bit further afield and gives you the sense of visiting the Sahara desert! Amidst this sea of sand, you will find some lakes as well. Ideally, visit early in the morning when it’s not only cooler but to enjoy stunning sunrise vistas too.
Fun Experiences
Apart from taking pictures, there are some fun activities as well. Sand sledding is popular at the Red Sand Dunes as is wading in the Fairy Springs. At the White Sand Dunes, you can look forward to trying an exciting quad bike ride or for something truly special take a hot air balloon tour over the sands!
