Tour Hilf Town
If you’re travelling from one of the prominent Oman luxury resorts – for instance, the Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar Resort – Hilf Town will likely be your first stop in Masirah Island. You can take stock of the island here and grab any equipment you’ll need for your adventures.
Go Camping
Since the island is quite sparsely populated, you might want to consider camping if you want to explore further into the island. Camping by the beach has become quite popular here as you can spend the night under the stars while being serenaded by the gentle lap of the ocean waves.
Try Kitesurfing
Kitesurfing is by far the most popular water sport you can try out here on the island. Along the coastline, you’ll find plenty of spots that are perfect for it – what’s more there are a number of schools that will help you get started out if you’re new to kitesurfing.
Go Turtle Watching
Masirah Island is used as a nesting ground by sea turtles. You can set up camp at one of the beaches these reptiles frequent and wait to see them come ashore – provided you’ve got your timing right, of course.
