A place brimming with scenery, Frog Hills is among the top attractions in Malaysia. The water pools found here are the main highlight. Among the tourists visiting the site are photographers, who are here to take pictures of the spectacular sunrise and the sunset, but you can visit at any time you want.
How to get here
Frog Hills is about 30 minutes from Penang mainland, but there’s no public transport available; you will have to drive here by car or bike.
Is there an entrance fee?
No, you don’t have to pay anything to visit Frog Hills. This also means that there’s no one here to maintain or guard the place, so be careful if you are travelling alone.
Is there accommodation nearby?
You have plenty of options, but you cannot find accommodation within walking distance. You have a variety of options, including Seberang Jaya apartments – the likes of Sky Residence Prai are an example.
Parking
You don’t have to worry about parking as there’s a spacious parking space. Some claim that you have to park around 15 minutes away from the site, but it isn’t true; you can find parking right at the beginning of the climb.
Good to know
Bring plenty of water and wear sunscreen. Mosquito repellent is a must, and try not to travel here in the afternoon; the heat can be unbearable. There are no washroom facilities here, and you won’t find any shops selling food, so bring your own snacks.
