St Anne National Marine Park is located approximately 5km from Victoria, Seychelles’ capital city. The park consists of 8 small islands, all of which were marked as protected due to the abundance of wildlife found here.
The park
Since it was declared as a protected area in 1973 in order to preserve the wildlife, water sports and fishing are strictly prohibited in the area.
Area
The park covers a total area of 14.43 km2 and is made up of coral reefs mostly.
Tourism
To increase the number of tourists, the government and wildlife protection authorities sought to mark off areas which can be accessed by tourists and areas which cannot be accessed.
