If you’re fond of trekking different kinds of environments, then Sri Lanka is an ideal destination. Here are a few treks you need to check out!
Ella
Ella has skyrocketed in terms of popularity and is no longer a little-known destination. Ella rock is a great hike, taking about 4 hours from start to finish. It’s best if you wake up early and start the trek, that way you get to witness the gorgeous sunrise. Early mornings are also a great time for hikes as the sun during midday is quite unbearable.
Adams Peak
Adam’s Peak is a sacred place for most religious groups living in Sri Lanka. This is a 6000 step climb and takes roughly four to five hours in order to reach the summit. December to May is the season for Adam’s Peak, and it’s best to avoid full moon days as it tends to get extremely crowded.
Hanthana Mountain Range
When you plan your itinerary in Sri Lanka, a travel agency, the likes of Aitken Spence Travels would be ideal to partner up with. Always ensure you make sure the cultural hill city of Kandy is part of your tour. The Hanthana Mountain Range sits beautifully green in the outskirts of Kandy and consists of several peaks. The first two peaks are the easiest to hike.
