Renowned for its eclectic collection of vehicles manufactures between 1950 and the 1990’s the locale is perhaps best known for housing the globe’s largest truck. The Sheik’s Rainbow Mercedes collection is equally impressive as multi-hued Benzes in the colours of the rainbow were designated for use during the seven days of the week. Containing modern amenities the likes of refrigerators and TV sets the rainbow logo and hubcaps feature prominently on the vehicles.
Other highlights include 4 wheel drives, a replica of an 1890’s three wheeler manufactured by Mercedes and a number of vehicles used for military purposes. The larger than life replica of the Dodge Power Wagon truck with its 4 bedrooms is another popular exhibit in addition to 10 prototypes of legendary racing cars. Mini cars and bubble cars are also found here alongside European and American limousines dating back to the 50’s and 70’s. Several dune bashing vehicles are also on show here while the transparent disco car is a true treasure among treasures. The cars are kept in prime condition due to the maintenance work carried out by the workshop located behind the museum. Certain models on display are in running condition.
