Since this Bo Tree is one of the saplings of the Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi in Anuradhapura, it’s being worshipped by Buddhists from every corner of the country. It also holds great historical value as it has been planted in the 2nd century BC.
If you have visited some other Buddhist temples, you will surely see a big difference in the stupa you find in Kalutara. It follows a hollow structure, and not many such stupas are there in this whole world.
The Richmond Castle, Kalutara beach, and Thudugala Ella waterfall are some of the other beautiful attractions located within close vicinity.
