The famed Kings Island amusement park located in the vicinity of Cincinnati, Ohio is a truly world-class venue which offers something for every visitor regardless of age or preference. With a myriad of exciting rides, children’s areas and dining options Kings Island is the place to go for a fun-filled family outing.
The thrilling rides at the park are among the most exciting and sophisticated you will find anywhere. The Diamondback is perhaps Kings Island’s most outrageous rollercoaster, having the distinction of being the fastest and tallest at the park; the steel 230-ft tall coaster reaches speeds of 80 mph. Alternatively you may try The Beast, the world’s longest wooden rollercoaster which extends over a scenic verdant background. Make it a point to try out the Firehawk, a high-tech flying rollercoaster which takes those who dare high into the air with five inversions – with riders facing upside-down.
Other rides include Delirium, an adrenaline-inducing stunner where riders are suspended in the air while the giant wheel spirals in a vertigo-fuelling experience. Not to be missed is the Drop Tower, the world’s highest gyro drop where riders are plunged from a height of 315 feet, the equivalent of 26 stories at 67 mph.
There are also several family-oriented rides which offer somewhat less heart-pounding but still highly enjoyable experiences. Kings Island’s dodgem cars are as fun as they could be, enabling the entire family to chase each other around the arena. The Adventure Express is one of the finest ‘mine train’ coasters providing a scenic ride. An attractive option is the Backlot Stunt Coaster which simulates the feeling of being a stunt car driver with its exciting chase sequence.
The small fry are not forgotten as there is the charming Planet Snoopy to entertain the young ones. Taking its theme from the famed Peanuts cartoon series, the rides are specially designed for young children. Kids may try out the Character Carousel, a miniature version of a traditional carousel, or such attractions as the Flying Ace Aerial Chase, Charlie Brown’s Wind Up or Joe Cool’s Dodgem School.
