Overview
Richmond Castle is situated in a 42-acre estate, featuring a number of intricate and detailed carvings, glass stained windows boasting beautiful designs, a staircase of teak imported from Burma and a dance hall so immense. It is though that this castle is a fusion of architectural styles from the East and West. History
Don Arthur de Silva was a wealthy landowner and philanthropist who dreamt of having his own castle someday. This dream of his came true in 1910 when the majestic doors of Richmond Castle were opened.

This iconic castle is located in Tekkawatte, Palatota in Kalutara South. You can visit anytime between 8:30 in the morning till 4:30 in the evening on weekdays.
