Mount Qingcheng is divided in to two parts. That is, as the front part and the back part. It is the front part of the mountain that gets great momentum as it is the most scenic side of the peak.
When you are at the foot of Mount Qingcheng, the most striking thing you would see is the Laojun Pavilion. The Laojun Pavilion is located in the highest peak called the Laoxiao Peak which is over 1260 meters in height.
When you begin to ascend this iconic peak, the first thing you would see is the Jianfu Palace which is supposed to have belonged to the Tang Dynasty. The backdrop near this marvellous palace is truly picturesque with a stream running down. Then heading towards the west, you will discover an amazing wooden pavilion that thrusts out between trees and grotesque rocks.
While climbing a little further, you would discover the Tianshi Temple. Out of all the places found in Mount Qingcheng, this is the most important temple of all. The reason behind it is that the Tianshi Temple is believed to be the place where Taoism was born. At this shrine you will find three other buildings known as Sanhuang Palace, the Sanqing Palace and Huangdi Temple. So for a better understanding of Taoism, a visit to these temples would be really worth it.
As soon as you leave the temple of Tianshi, you will cross a bridge called Fangning. Along the path you will reach Zushi Palace which was built during the Qing Dynasty. Next you will arrive at the Shangqing Palace which is also a famous temple in the locale.
